The Secret Language of Cocktails

I'm a Manhattan.

I'll pop up for air again once I'm done with this whole opera thing eleven days from now.

Margarita's are nice, but not a tequila sunrise.

Gin/tonic by riceowlguy (2.00 / 0) #5 Thu Jul 17, 2008 at 11:21:11 PM EST
was in the opening paragraph.  I imagine that rum/coke or bourbon/coke would be essentially the same thing.

I couldn't decide, so I'm both.

Mimosa

Mint Julep
You own your own dueling pistols and aren’t afraid to use them.

The entry for beer:

WHOOOOOOO!

It's the secret language of cocktails by riceowlguy (2.00 / 0) #10 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 08:27:41 AM EST
not alcohol in general.  Beer preference is a whole other sub-discipline of alchosociology.

True by jayhawk88 (2.00 / 0) #17 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 01:19:10 PM EST
But trust me: A beer is a cocktail in certain parts of the country.

Is that one of those drinks-inna-drink? I am unconvinced by them.

YMMV by Phage (2.00 / 0) #13 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 10:44:24 AM EST

what i really don't like by Merekat (2.00 / 0) #14 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 10:45:56 AM EST
Is when the drink-inna-drink is in a little bottle, with the label still on. Manky, really.

Give me a simple caipirina any day.

No bottles. by Phage (2.00 / 0) #15 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 11:34:22 AM EST
Pull pint / half. Add shot. Drink quickly.
I had to google the caipirina. I'm not sure that I'm any the wiser.

I prefer my cocktails . . . by slozo (2.00 / 0) #18 Fri Jul 18, 2008 at 04:37:22 PM EST
. . . to represent my mood as opposed to personality.

gin & tonic - all business
dark rum & coke - playful
wet vodka martini - deadly serious or elated
meaty ceasar - party time

etc
