Monday will be the first (proper) site turn-up for the MPLS network and phones.

We're starting in our lovely office in the Perry projects. They've always been a technological afterthought, and are only getting new phones because I finally convinced The Boss that they needed to be on the MPLS network anyway. After he accepted that (I'm not sure how he thought they were going to connect to access their files and such) he figured the cost of four extra phones wouldn't ruin the project's bottom line.

These are the moments when I feel like I'm babysitting The Boss. He wants to be all grown-up and independent, but left on his own for too long he'd catch the curtains on fire.

So instead of not including them, they're first. Second (but first satellite)on phones because we (the main office) had to bring them up first and did so in an emergency, first on the MPLS (for data, we're voiping over our new fiber here) because we're switching the main office over last.

Nice to see my assistant listens to me. One simple instruction. Plug their SIP proxy into X switch port. It's nothing, it's obviously a trivial fix, but come on. Listen for once. Stop acting like you know everything, then working like you know nothing.

All this, of course, relies on our new provider installing their equipment. It seems, I just learned, that they can't find where the fiber was dropped. It's not in our office, and it's not at the building demarc. Yay!
