At some point the house is going to require some sort of photo diary.

Doing that, however, means getting pictures off of my camera, resizing them, and actually bothering to post.

The place is a huge mess right now. Wires hanging all over the place. The kitchen floor is in but I haven't bought and trim for it yet, let alone installed it. The bathroom is a mess of hung and non-hung drywall, which is covering the mess where the old tile used to be. No toilet, no sink, and there's a leak in the bathtub drain pipe so we can't use it (not that we would be just now). There's my rough patch job where the tile was glued on so heavily that it striped the plaster right down to the lath.

The basement bathroom, which was not originally on the project list (we were going to leave it as-is and use it for an emergency bathroom, then renovate it into a kick-ass bathroom in the future), is in desperate shape. There was, well, a gift left in the toilet and the seat was, er, messy. The floor was so dirty that I didn't realize the tiles were different from the rest of the basement. The sink is rusted almost through. The vanity is all shitted up (that may or may not be literal, I haven't investigated that thoroughly). We bought a new upstairs toilet, as was always the plan, and the old one will go into the basement. I figure I'll pick up a pedestal sink and sneak a floor in there when the wife isn't looking. I saw some laminate on clearance.

I was hoping the bathroom would be almost done by the end of last week, but the electrician needed to work in there as the wires for all three bedrooms run up through the wall.

Damn wiring.

Using the faux wood plank vinyl flooring in the bathroom.  It looks fairly decent, and the install is nothing more than using a ruler and utility knife.  Best part is that it's relatively cheap, and cleans up damned quick.

basically, it's this stuff, but I got it at lowe's
