Washing windshields for spare change since 1977

I quit my job at WalMart. We had a slight mis-understanding about my salary. See, when they told me it was 12 thousand dollars, well, I just assumed they were talking about per month, whilst it turns out they meant per year. Yeah, like what evar dudes, if you want someone of my caliber on the payroll you're going to have to bring it a little stronger than that. But don't despair, gentle reader, for I have an interview with Merv's Landscaping and Tree Service next week. I don't know what they pay though, maybe 60 or 70 G's a year???

In other news I have the cleanest apartment on the planet. Bar none. Really. We're talking both spic and fucking span. In fact - here's a picture of my office - just try to find a hunk of dust there.

I've also taken up crafting. You know, scrap-booking and junk like that. I know I know, I used to think it was a sissy sort of thing to do but Oprah says it's a great stress reliever and that's good enough for me.

In other news this being on the dole is expensive. Seriously. There's nothing to do but watch soap operas and go to lunch with other people who don't have jobs (i.e., hot housewives) then go buy shit at the mall. Not that I have a problem with lunching with various housewife chicks, but I'm starting to fear that my manhood is suffering. They want to sit and talk about laundry detergents and about how their husbands don't listen to them and crap - which I listen to, being the supportive bloke that I am, but I can't really relate. Plus I've been having lunch quite a bit with my one married friend who I may or may not have a thing for (she's been quite supportive regarding my calamity doncha know. She even baked me a birthday cake ((it was my birthday last week (((go ahead and wish me Happy Birhtday ya rat bastards))) )), hell, my Mom never did that - she went to the store and bought them.) which isn't healthy at all. Why, why, why doth the Gods tempt me so.

Anyways, I need to reduce my burn rate until The Man starts sending me some dough. Speaking of which I need to go down there Monday and officially become a statistic else He won't know He's supposed to mail me some dough. Meh.

Is this Milt Romney bloke the biggest bag of hot air on the planet or what? He claims he's dropping out of the race since it's a time of war and the party needs to unite (i.e., make him the VP) to do battle against the Dem's who want to surrender to the terrists. Uh, hello? Didn't the mormon get the memo that it's not 2004 anymore? Is that really going to be their platform in 08?? Again??? If so I can see the biggest ass kicking going down regardless of whether the R's go up against the negroe or the erection killer. Especially since McAin isn't enough of a homophobe or Jesus freak to really mobilize the right-wing nutters. Truth be told if McAin gets elected it wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen. I may actually go into the booth and flip a coin to make my selection. Take that founding fathers - that's what I think of your smelly Republic and how broken it is.

Well that's it. I'm off to lunch, then, well, the Mall I guess.

we're going to be in Clevia on Feb 26th for a whole week!  Think we can meet up with you at the soup kitchen or what-not?

Do you need us to bring you used clothes or shoes or anything?

I read some study on who has the most sex and it turns out it has nothing to do with money or social status, but rather it has to do with free time as they found that people with no jobs are the ones having the most sex. Imagine that.

well, just outside Cleveland.

The dude has to go meet his great-grandmother, who is afraid to fly so she won't come down here.  He also has to meet a great-aunt and great-uncle, some cousins, and a great-great-aunt who is turning 80.  Let's not forget his grandmother is about to go NUTS because she hasn't seen him since early December.

We also have to make the rounds amongst clock's long-time buddies.

Oh, and we're also going to see Uncle C's new house (well, new to him.  It was their uncle's earth-sheltered home that he gutted and remodeled).

In short:  family!

Lets see, oh, it looks like I was slated to hang myself on the 24th, well, I guess I can postpone that for a week or so.

Maybe we can meet at the Mall for lunch - that would kill two birds with one stone!

Seriously though - if'n we can synchronize our schedules I'd be happy to meet up with yuns for dinner or lunch or whatever. Of course you'll need to agree to sign a waiver and non-disclosure form and be strip searched. A bloke can't be too careful ya know.

Why mess with success? by riceowlguy (4.00 / 1) #5 Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 02:05:48 PM EST
The "only we can protect you from the terrorists" strategy worked for them in 2004.  The people, like you and me, who can't believe that that would work in 2008 are the same people, like you and me, who can't believe that Bush got re-elected in 2004.  I know most people I associate with believe that the Democrats are going to kick ass in this election, but they're not in touch with the way a large chunk of the population thinks.

Logic and common sense by riceowlguy (2.00 / 0) #33 Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 11:38:28 AM EST
have little to do with politics.  Politics can almost be defined as the realm where common sense and logic goes out the window.  To a lot of people, it's perfectly logical and sensible that the government should provide free health care to everybody.  To others it's perfectly logical that people should have to work to earn health care.  Just as an example.

I think Scott Adams once made the point that Americans were pretty much split 50/50 on the abortion issue, and that there wasn't much of a correlation between education/intelligence and people's position on abortion.  So, being smart and educated and logical doesn't really predict how we feel about politics.

Whoever can sustain an erection longest while lying on a pile of dismembered 3rd world children wins.  I rank them Clinton -> McCain -> Obama.

There's some dust on top of that picture frame on the wall.  You know you're going to have to check now, so just get it over with.

We need to send the women back to the kitchen where they belong. If you think about it the country really has gone to hell in a handbag since we gave them the right to wear jeans and vote.

I think some public stonings would be just the thing to shape them up.

1.  The second to last guy to leave our company was told he'd be making 30-35.  He assumed an hour.  They meant per hour.  he learned this on payday.  For real.

2.  When I heard Romney talking about terra and the war, I almost went to the local voting place to switch to Democrat.  I'm with you, this 2004 and if that's the platform for the GOP.  Ick.
